No comment… #57

Sketch

Σκίτσο

του Ανακρέοντα Καναβάκη

“χωρίς σχόλιο*”

One more from the series of sketches I call “collateral …acquisitions”, as they were usually produced while speaking on the phone, or thinking of ideas for a client, or while waiting for the next newspaper article for the daily cartoon…

*”No comment” is also characterizing a cartoon / sketch / illustration that comments without speech bubbles. Το “Χωρίς Σχόλιο” χαρακτηρίζει ένα σκίτσο / εικονογράφηση, που σχολιάζει χωρίς λόγια.

Happy May!

Here’s to more flower thoughts, rather than numbers.

A head full of numbers of Biblical proportions, and, as fitting for Anakreon Kanavakis, prophetic. When one looks at the words that correspond to the numbers 514, 7829, and 467 in Strong’s NT Concordance:

Strong’s NT Concordance Hebrew 514, Axios
of one who has merited anything worthy

    Revelation 5:9
“Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals…”

    Matthew 5:14
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.”

    Revelation 5:14
And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

Strong’s NT Concordance Hebrew 7829. shachepheth
    consumption, wasting disease

Deuteronomy 28:22 “The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.”

Strong’s NT Concordance Greek 467. antapodidómi
to give back as an equivalent, recompense
Romans 11:35 “Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?”
