A 14 page wall calendar [48x55cm]. The photographs of the calendar depict mornings of July, August and September during our succesive drives on the land with starting-point Alexandroupolis. Landmarks in our course were Evros, from its delta to the northern part of its flow, other rivers like Erythropotamos and Ardas, areas like Dadia, Asproneri and the endless prairies, archaeological sites as those of Messimvria and Zoni, railway stations like Soufli, Didymoticho, Orestiada, Feres, castles like Avantas and, finally, amidst the sea the amazing world of Samothraki. Photographs taken by Giorgos Depollas. Unfortunately the photographs are low resolution. Back then we used photographic slides which were embedded in the printing process.

I was going to ask whose photographs they were and then decided to be a responsible adult and read the text. They are lovely despite their low resolution 🙂

I made sure to mention it twice in the post 😉 …and thank you for reading it! People don’t always have time to read through. xoxoxo
Thank you so much, my kind friend. So glad you like it! ❤️🤗

Yes, you did. And you are right, people don’t make the time, either.

We used to used slides a lot. I have a light table built into my desk at work from the days of using slide film. Beautiful calendar.

Thank you, my friend! Yes, we did too. The quality of those photos [slide film] is unsurpassable. Also the work of the designer did not involve the handling and inserting of photos back when I started. Even in the first 5+ years of computer graphics, the artwork would not include the photos. That was a process for the next stage, colour separation. So as a designer, I was either working with a low res photo [as in this case], or none at all.

It interesting how all the processes have changed.

I love the photographs and how they’re presented in the calendar. The dawning of the new millenium sure seems like a long time ago now.
