One more from the series of sketches I call “collateral …acquisitions”, as they were usually produced while speaking on the phone, or thinking of ideas for a client, or while waiting for the next newspaper article for the daily cartoon…
This one however was commissioned for a newspaper article on taxes and Tax Revenue.

Αλλο ένα από τα σκίτσα που ονομάζω “παράπλευρα …αποκτήματα”, τα οποία συνήθως γινόντουσαν την ώρα ενός τηλεφωνήματος, ή καθώς ετοιμαζόταν η ιδέα για κάποιον πελάτη, ή περίμενοντας το επόμενο άρθρο για εικονογράφηση…
Το συγκεκριμένο ήταν ανατεθημένο για άρθρο εφημερίδας με θέμα την εφορία και τους φόρους.

You know there is a tradition at Polish weddings. It’s called the “hanged man”
The men at the wedding corral the groom, and hold him up upside down. They shake him until all the $$$$ falls out of his pockets. When his pockets are empty, they gather up the money, and give it to the bride!

A ha ha haaaaaa…. that’s a great tradition! Over here they call the groom the ‘hanged man’ but probably because wives usually drain them just like the Polish ‘hanged man’! 😂🤣😂😂
