Wow. That is a marvelous design. “Cool Tool” as they say.

    1. Ah, thank you, my friend! One of those jobs that I have to work very fast and with no source material to use.

  2. Reminds me just a little of Spirit’s album cover art https://www.google.com/search?q=12+dreams+of+dr+sardonicus Do you and your husband know that album? “It’s nature’s way…” Other than that, not too memorable… musically. But it was pretty big here for a while. 🙂

    1. I knew the band and album and funny enough first time I heard “Nature’s way” was by This Mortal Coil (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dVgB1g4Lzas) I bet Oannes knows the album. Blind Guardian album designer probably knew the reference…

      1. Nice version. This Mortal Coil brings back memories of living in an apartment just before my big India trip! I had a friend who introduced me to them, the Cocteau Twins, bands like that. Atmospheric… 🙂

        1. Yes, back then (college years) I was very much into 4AD stuff and dark goth. 😉

          1. It’s interesting how word got around about what was ‘hot’ back then. So different from today. 😄

            1. Very different…. not to mention the depth of the swamp one has to dig in nowadays! 🙄😱

            2. Haha… I guess record stores did a quick filter… and then friends, and friends of friends, and parties… In the 1970s FM radio was really groovy here… the DJ would tell you in advance, on air, to “get your tape deck ready” because they were going to play a whole album!

            3. I was one of those people recording on tape! 😉 Whole different times, almost alien to today! Just take a look at the audience of progressive bands back in the 60s, how eager and respectful people were, joyous to be taking in great music.

            4. Yeah, I was trying to explain to a younger person once how the modern use of synthesizers builds on the 70s… how it’s now so integrated, chopped up and manipulated with PCs. She replied, “I don’t know what you are talking about!” Ha ha. I still occasionally listen to top 40—mostly interested from a production angle. Curious about the times, what they’re doing, what it reflects…

            5. Sometimes I think we were fortunate -in a way- for having experienced both worlds. Analog & digital. ….other times , not so much! 😉

            6. There was something magical in the pure analog. I get a similar feeling from the original Star Trek where the FX weren’t so great but the imagination was spellbinding. I think that sums up a lot of the difference. Imagination is more compelling than mere digitalia. At least, that’s how I see it, having lived during both eras too! ⚛️🔭⚛️

            7. That’s exactly the point! Brilliantly put and I can relate so much with the first Star Trek. 🌟💫🌠⭐🖖
