1970
In 1970, Katharine M. Butterworth founded the Study In Greece Program materializing her vision: “SIG is designed to bring the American student into direct contact with modern Greece, its people, institutions, culture, art and heritage. In every phase of the program the student will be relating with the Greek people“. It was an accredited five month college study program for undergraduate students. The curriculum focused on the study of contemporary Greek life and as such was the first of its kind. The logo was created as a gift by Anakreon Kanavakis to Katharine with whom they had been friends. • Το 1970, η Κατερίνα Μ. Μπάτεργουωρθ, ίδρυσε και διεύθυνε το πρόγραμμα “Study in Greece”, που φιλοξενούσε φοιτητές αμερικανικών πανεπιστημίων για ένα εκπαιδευτικό εξάμηνο στην Ελλάδα, με αντικείμενο τη σύγχρονη Ελλάδα. Υπήρξε το πρώτο τέτοιο πρόγραμμα με αυτή την κατεύθυνση. Το λογότυπο ήταν δώρο του Ανακρέοντα Καναβάκη στην Κατερίνα Μπάτεργουωρθ, με την οποία τους συνέδεε μακροχρόνια φιλία.
